Our Umrah package by bus from Dubai is a 10-day trip by road that gives you eight nights in the holy cities: six in Makkah and two in Madinah. The luxury air-conditioned coach leaves early on Wednesday mornings, collects pilgrims from Dubai and Sharjah, and brings you back to the UAE on day ten. It costs much less than flying, and the extra nights in Makkah are the main reason many families and working pilgrims in Dubai choose it. The package card on this page shows the hotels and the current price for each room type, and our Dubai team confirms your seat before you pay.
Dubai to Makkah by bus: the timings
The current schedule has the coach leaving at around 6:30 in the morning, and we confirm your exact pickup point and time when you book. The drive from Dubai to Makkah takes roughly 24 to 30 hours with rest stops along the way, and most of the difference comes from how long the group spends at the UAE–Saudi border. The coach crosses with the whole group, and the border tax is already included in the package, so there is nothing extra to arrange on the day.
On arrival in Makkah you complete the arrival formalities, check in and perform Umrah. For the return, the coach currently leaves Madinah at around 1 pm on day ten and drives back to Dubai and Sharjah. Ask the team for the expected arrival time when you book, so you can plan your return to work.
Your ten days, step by step
Day one is the road journey. Day two is arrival in Makkah and your Umrah. Days three, four and six are yours for prayers at Masjid al-Haram, tawaf and rest, and on day five the group goes on a guided visit to the historic places of Makkah. On day seven you check out and travel to Madinah. Day eight includes prayers at Masjid an-Nabawi and a guided ziyarat of Madinah, and day nine is kept free for worship, with an evening briefing before the journey home. On day ten the coach leaves Madinah for the UAE.
A group guide travels with you throughout, so first-time pilgrims have someone to ask at the border, at the hotels and during the rites. Umrah and Rawdah visits are booked through the official Nusuk app, and the guide helps the group obtain these permits after arrival.
Hotels in Makkah and Madinah
In Makkah the group stays at Dar Al Sama or a similar hotel, about 1 km from the Haram, with a free shuttle bus to and from the mosque. In Madinah you stay at Artal Taiba or similar, around 12 minutes' walk from the Prophet's Mosque, with a free shuttle if you prefer not to walk. The hotel is confirmed when you book. If you want to stay closer to the Haram, ask the team about other hotels in Makkah and Madinah.
What the bus package includes
The price covers the return journey on a luxury AC coach, transfers, hotel nights in both cities, guided ziyarat in Makkah and Madinah, a group guide, ihram, the UAE–Saudi border tax and Wi-Fi. Meals are not included, so set aside a food budget for the road and for both cities. Luggage limits for the coach are explained in the group briefing before departure. If you are unsure about a large suitcase or extra bags, ask before you pack rather than at the pickup point.
Price, rooms and visa
The price is per person and depends on the room you choose. A shared room for four to five pilgrims costs the least, while triple and double rooms cost more but give you more privacy. Couples usually book a double room and families of three a triple. Child and infant rates are listed separately on the package, which makes it simple to work out the total for a family before you get in touch. The package card always shows the live AED price, so you won't find an out-of-date figure in the text.
The Umrah visa is not included in the bus price; it is charged separately. Our team processes the Umrah eVisa for eligible UAE residents and many visitors on UAE visit visas once you send your documents, and urgent applications can be arranged. If you already hold a valid Saudi visa, you can still join the bus group and we will adjust the quote. The Umrah visa from Dubai page explains the process.
Is the bus right for you?
The bus suits students, families sharing a room and anyone who would rather spend less and stay longer in Makkah. It asks for patience, though. More than a day on the road each way is tiring for elderly parents, very young children and anyone with back or health problems. For them, our Umrah packages by air from Dubai reach Jeddah in a few hours, although the trip is shorter and the price is higher. Our guide to air vs bus Umrah compares the two in more detail.
Preparing for the road
Keep a small bag at your seat with water, snacks, any medication, a phone charger, a light blanket and your passport and documents, because the border check needs them. Wear comfortable clothes for the journey and pack your ihram where you can reach it before arrival in Makkah. Download the Nusuk app before you leave Dubai so it is ready when the guide sets up permits. Our Umrah packing list covers the rest.
To book, send a copy of a passport valid for more than six months, your Emirates ID copy and one photograph. A flu vaccination card is optional at the moment. Women may travel for Umrah without a mahram under current Saudi rules, subject to visa requirements, and children under 18 must travel with a parent or legal guardian.
How to book your seat
Choose your room type on the package card, then WhatsApp or call our Dubai office with the Wednesday you want to travel. We check seats on the coach, confirm your pickup point and visa steps, and send the final price before you pay. Groups can ask about extra dates. If you live in the Northern Emirates, the same coach also collects from Sharjah; see Umrah by bus from Sharjah.
